Growing up in the beautiful area of St. George, Betty was excited to start her college journey in her hometown. At Dixie Junior College, she served as a student body officer and graduated with honors. Betty completed her education with a master’s degree at BYU. Her career as an educator started in Salt Lake City School District, followed by Nebo School District, and ultimately in Washington County School District as an elementary school principal until she retired. During her career, Betty was honored to serve as a State Officer in the Utah Science Teachers Association and also as State President in the Utah Association of Elementary School Principals. Now she is delighted to have the opportunity to give back to Utah Tech by serving on the UT Alumni Board as President. Betty and her husband, Barry, have raised six children and now enjoy sailing, traveling and spoiling their wonderful grandchildren.
